Adapted from Charlie Patton's interpretation of this 1920's jazz standard.

This was a well-established pop number by the time Charlie Patton recorded his interpretation in 1927. Search for the song's title on Youtube and you can hear it performed by Sophie Tucker, Ethel Waters, Bing Crosby, Cab Calloway, The Mills Brothers, and Fletcher Henderson.

In our interpretation, we imitated the way Patton's recording slowly speeds up, but we kicked it off at an even slower tempo. The choice to use hamboning was in reference to the fact that Patton creates all sorts of complex rhythms by patting his feet and tapping the guitar.
